The Power of Shared Moments
When seniors come together, something powerful happens. A quiet room fills with laughter. Strangers become friends. Memories are made that remind each person just how much life still has to offer.
Adventures Together is about more than outings, it’s about creating opportunities for seniors to connect, celebrate, and thrive in community. From baseball games and fishing trips to garden walks and car shows, every gathering is a chance to rediscover joy, dignity, and purpose.
Isolation increases the risk of early death by 29%. Every ALA outing is one step closer to rewriting that statistic.

-
Encourage seniors to rediscover old passions and try new ones.
-
Offer a safe, welcoming environment where everyone belongs.
Whether it’s cheering at a baseball game, visiting a museum, attending a car show, or something as simple as a trip to visit a loved one’s gravesite, every adventure is more than an activity—it’s a chance to belong.
Real stories that inspire our mission.

Steve's Story
In 1955, I was 12 years old and hid my baseball glove on a shelf at school. By Monday, lockers had been installed, and my glove was sealed away behind them. I thought it was gone forever.
Decades later, they found it during renovations — with my name still written on the strap. When they handed it back, I felt 12 again.

Why It Matters
Social isolation isn’t just lonely—it’s harmful to health. Studies show isolation can increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, depression, and even early mortality. But every outing changes that story.
Group events help seniors:
-
Boost mental health: reducing depression and anxiety through connection.
-
Strengthen physical health: activities improve mobility, balance, and independence.
-
Enhance emotional health: friendships and belonging bring back hope and joy.
Every gathering is medicine for the soul.
